This year marks the 5th Anniversary of David Choate’s Hot Chocolate — and we’re making it the most spectacular production yet at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, December 19–21, 2025.

For the first time ever, the show will be led by an all-new powerhouse production team:

• Primo – Choreographer, New York Unit

• Asya Graves – Choreographer, Cincinnati Unit

• Attire: Form-fitting dancewear appropriate for your style/technique

• Bring: Ballet shoes, pointe shoes (if applicable), water, resume/headshot if available

🎭 Roles We Are Casting: Cincinnati

✨ This year’s Cincinnati auditions will cast a mix of paid professional roles (denoted below with a *).  along exciting opportunities for students, pre-professionals, and members of our community.

Participants will be divided into groups during the audition.

Ciara (Our Clara)

• Young dancer role (advanced beginner+ in ballet)

• Must be enrolled in regular ballet classes

• Strong character skills required

​

Junior/Jasmine (Our Fritz)

• Young dancer role (advanced beginner+ in ballet)

• Must be enrolled in regular ballet classes

• Strong character skills required

Chefs*

• Advanced, pre-professional, or professional dancers

• Styles: Hip hop, streetdance, musical theater, or jazz

• Bring flavor, joy, and bold energy to the stage

Aunts & Uncles* (Our Party Parents)

• Strong ballet & pointe technique required

• Corps de ballet roles with featured ensemble opportunities

• May also appear in Snow Scene, “Love Again,” and/or 

The Bear*

• Dancer proficient in ballet with powerful character presence

• Infuses joy, curiosity, and humor into the show

DOLLS*

• Young dancers with charisma and personality

• Styles: Ballet, musical theater, jazz (acro a plus!)

• May also be cast in ensemble roles (snow, Love Again, Gingerbread)

Snow Pas de Deux*

• Could be drawn from Aunts/Uncles or cast separately

• Seeking dancers with strong classical partnering skills

Cousins (Our Party Kids)

• Energetic dancers with stage presence and versatility

• Styles: Ballet, musical theater, jazz (acro a plus!)

• Advanced beginner/intermediate level

Toys/Sweets

• Workshop based roles for Young dancers with charisma and personality

• Styles: Ballet, musical theater, jazz (acro a plus!)

• May also be cast in ensemble roles (snow/Gingerbread)

Ensemble

• Workshop based roles for members of our community who may have varied experience in dance, possesses strong stage presence, musical timing, and a will to move! 

• May be featured in varied ensemble scenes in the show.
